A Little Bit About “Overnight”

I am so excited for all of you to finally hear “Overnight,” Amy’s duet with her daughter, Sarah.  I love the song and have been incredibly anxious for people to finally hear it.  Interestingly, the song was co-written by Natalie Hemby.  Natalie is the daughter of Amy’s longtime assistant and friend, Deanna, and her husband, Tom Hemby.  Tom has co-written songs with Amy including “Ask Me,” and “How Can We See That Far.”

Listen to the song now by clicking on the “Listen To Music” button on the top left corner of this web page.  Let us know your thoughts.

Welcome~

Welcome to the new www.amygrant.com. We have been working very hard to refresh the site and to take into consideration some of the feedback we have been hearing from you. We hope you find this new layout to be easy to use, informative, fun, and a way to connect with Amy, her team, and also other Amy fans (aka GrantHeads)

In addition to launching the site, March is a busy month for us with the release of “Somewhere Down The Road,” Amy’s first release of mostly new material in several years. Thank you so much for all the positive feedback we are hearing about the first single, “Better Than A Hallelujah.” We are getting great initial response from Christian radio and are very excited about this song and how people are reacting to it. In fact, if you feel inspired we would love for you to request the song at your local Christian station if they aren’t already playing it.

In addition to the new single, “Somewhere Down The Road” includes several other new tracks, including a brand new duet between Amy and her daughter Sarah called “Overnight.” We are anxious for you to hear all of the new music and hope you like it as much as we do.

Amy and I will be hitting the road the last week of March to promote the release of the new record. Although our schedule isn’t quite firm yet, it looks like we will be making stops in Tampa, Atlanta, Dallas, and then off to New York for a few days of tv and other press. Amy is confirmed to perform the single on the CBS Morning Show on April 3 and we are looking to confirm a few additional tv appearances. We hope to see many of you during this whirlwind week!

We have also updated the tour page with several new 2010 concerts. Please check to see if we are coming to your area. It is always fun for us to see familiar faces out on the road so please grab some friends and come join us. Amy has put together a great band for these shows and plays a lot of new material as well as some of the longtime favorites.

EMI is also releasing some special catalogue collections this month. With so many physical retailers cutting down on the amount of titles they will keep in stock, these special collections are a way to keep Amy’s music on the shelves at an affordable price.

The Early Years – Father’s Eyes and Age to Age

The Breakout Years – Straight Ahead and Unguarded

The Pop Collection – Heart In Motion and House of Love

The Songwriter Collection – Lead Me On and Behind The Eyes

If you haven’t already become a fan on facebook or follow us on twitter, please do. Facebook and twitter are two of the fastest and most direct ways for us to communicate news and information with you. Plus it is a fun way to interact with other people who enjoy Amy’s music.

Speaking of interaction, we also hope you will consider joining “Friends of Amy” to become more involved with other Amy fans and to take part of some of the special member benefits. As a member of FOA you get to sign up for soundchecks before concerts, take part in special pre-sales for concerts, participate in message boards, and also stream Radio Amy, which includes some live concerts, interviews, and rare recordings. In addition, the FOA community is filled with some really great people who like to connect before and after concerts, etc. It’s a great place and all are welcome.

And finally, if you haven’t already pre-ordered the new release, I encourage you to take advantage of one of the many special presale offers being offered. Here on www.amygrant.com you can pre-order a collectors item package or you can pre-order on Itunes and receive an “ambient mix” of “Better Than A Hallelujah” for free.

Please look around on the site, explore, and stay awhile. We hope you like it and we will continue to add new information and features from time to time.

Blessings,

“Come Together Now” (A Song for Haiti) – Watch the Video

Earlier this week Amy and Vince recorded vocals for a song Michael W. Smith produced in the wake of the tragedy in Haiti.  Neither Amy or Vince were able to make the “We Are The World” type recording that Michael did in Nashville with other Christian and Country artists, but they made a point to stop by and contribute the next week when they were both back in town.

My favorite part of the video is watching Amy and Vince convince Smitty not to replace Chris Rodriguez’s voice (who recorded the demo).  Chris is a dear friend of theirs and an amazing vocalist and I think it shows an insiders view of the absolute lack of ego of either Amy or Vince when they don’t want their part to replace Chris’.

Enjoy…

I Love My Job

Sitting here listening to the first pass of Amy’s new record. I don’t care if I’ve been doing this same job for the past 20 years, every time I hear a new song by Amy I feel like the luckiest girl in the world that I get to help support her career. There is something about the vulnerability and familiarity in her voice that gently tears down my own walls and allows the message of the song to penetrate my heart…or put a skip in my step. I’m excited about this project, especially her new single “Better Than A Hallelujah” and can’t wait to share it with all of you.

New Presale

Live performance videos – amateur

We've uploaded a couple of live performances from the Orlando concert last week.  They were just shot by an amateur (me) but thought you might enjoy them.

Orlando Show – Jan 21, 2010

Thought you might want to see a few photos from the show last night.  Amy had so much fun being with the band again and the crowd's warm response touched her heart.  It was a great mix of old songs, new songs, pop songs and faith songs.  The crowd really seemed to respond warmly to her new single, "Better Than A Hallelujah."  Another high point of the night was when she performed another new song she had written 18 months ago but hadn't recorded until this week…. she titled the song "Haiti."  Hopefully we will find a way to make it available online very soon.  Until then, enjoy the photos…

Sneak Peek – Here is the cover art for the new project.

Here is the cover for "Somewhere Down The Road," which releases March 30, 2010.  The painting featured on the cd cover is something Amy painted several years ago and gave to me as a gift.  It has been hanging on my office wall for years.  During an art direction discussion, Amy remembered the painting and suggested using it rather than a photo of her.  The label loved the idea and this is the result…
