Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.

“What a day today has been”,,,,,,,, ” Somehwere down the road”,, and John Denver’s “All this Joy” are but just a few lyrics, (which are prayers to me) that come to mind in the loss of your dear Mother. What a life she had to be celebrated !! Just one week after our Lord has also risen. Peace be to your family.

Amy no matter what age anyone is I know it’s hard but with joy you know that your Mom is at peace & with God. I recently heard that at Winston Churchills passing Winston had a bugler on one side play taps but without anyones knowing a minute later another bugler on the other side of the Abbey played revelie. Tho we see it as an end on earth it’s just the beginning in Heaven. You’ll remember the times here & smile but there are times acoming later & God & Jesus get to have some good times now with your Mom until all believers get to worship & sing directly to God as one big family. God bless you & your entire family. Jesus is with you & so is your Mom. Your music has been a comfort to me since 1978 when I was in the Navy & have been blessed by your wonderful voice & message since. Your music has comforted others through tough times like this also. Your Brother-in-Christ.

  • Sheryl

Oh my, I cried when I heard that. Some of us who have been following Amy’s life and career for many years now, feel like friends of sorts.

A prayer was said for Amy and her family. What joy to be with the Lord. What sorrow for those left behind. I hope Amy’s dad is o.k.

  • Julie M

Will always remember you on Oprah singing “After the Fire” to your sweet and beautiful mother…
it is still one of my very favorite songs…
Will say a prayer for you, your sisters and family.

  • Teresa Waite

  • Shannon Erickson

So sorry to hear of your loss Amy. I am praying for your entire family. Blessings to each of you. Love and hugs from up here in Oregon! I keep having that song you recorded a couple of years ago about your mom. Precious.

I saw you when I was like 15 or something. You came to Anchorage. You we’re amazing. I still think you’re amazing. Especially the “Better Than A Hallelujah” song. I saw your interview about that song tonight. I got all misty-eyed. Just for a brief second of course. America is celebrating the death of an enemy. May God continue to bless America and the brave men and women of the United States of America. One Nation, under God…
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
And Jesus Himstood in the midst and said, “Peace be unto you”. Luke 23:4

    Brother Christian,

Temple or you can call me Houston. That’s my middle name. Shalom!

    Amy,
We were at the Women of Faith conference this weekend when Mary shared the news of your mother passing with all of us. We could feel God with all of us as we lifted you and your family up in prayer. It was very moving and we know God hears our prayers. I pray that as you heal you can reflect on the life your mom lead and the many blessings she will leave behind. We missed you but we all know you were right were you needed to be and where God wanted you! God Bless, Kim in Nevada

Amy, please know that you have many prayers for your healing. You have had your mother your entire life, so saying goodbye is quite painful. May you feel God’s loving arms around you during this very difficult time for you and your family. Be kind to yourself.

    Dear Amy and Family:

I was attending the Women of Faith conference in Las Vegas when Mary Graham announced to the audience that you would not be with us due to the death of your beloved mother. Having gone through losing my mom, I know how much your heart breaks for her presence but what a blessing it is to know that she is in the presence of the Lord and no longer in pain. May God bless you during this time and may you find comfort in the presence of the Holy Spirit and the prayers of those who love you.

    Beth

From our friendship that began decades ago, I liked everything about your mom. Her support, affirmation, encouragement, and that smile, which you got. Seeing Gloria and Burton has always been such a great example of a fabulous marriage and life. I missed you at visitation but was there, as I have always been and continue to be as a friend, and have held you so close in prayer since hearing of her graduation last Saturday.
    See you soon.

Blessings to you and your family through this time.

    Amy,
Transitions come with many emotions. Embrace all of your’s. Many times your voice has been a comfort to me in times of loss and stress–as well as celebration. I know there are folks now returning that blessed favor to you and your family. Though you’ll only hear it in spirit, I add my voice to those comforting you. When there’s a celebration, it’s there, too.

The fabric of your life has been altered. Know that you can only be more beautiful because of it.
    Todd

Everyone here at Southwest Christian Care is sad with you today; but, we are joyous also knowing your Mother is being rewarded for her life of living for our Lord Jesus Christ. We had a special prayer during our Devotion time this morning remembering your entire family and especially for comfort for your Dad. Many remember the sweetness of your words last year about your Mother and what your Mom had to say before you came to do our Banquet – we will never forget the time we all shared with you. Sending much love and prayer support.

    Amy
You have always conveyed such love, respect and admiration for your Mom. It was especially moving to hear the poem on aging your wrote and recited as a tribute to your Mom during the 2 Friends Concert in Columbus, OH. A special memory since my daughter and I were in attendance together and able to share fond memories about our “Grandee” (my Mom, her grandmother). You loved your Mom well. Praying that peace and joy wash over you as your celebrate her life and witness.

    Amy,
I know that losing someone dear is never easy (due to the selfish part of us). I pray that his comfort surrounds you during this difficult time.

  • Karen Fay

Amy. Vince and all your family, As you are experiencing the many emotions through this, My thoughts and prayers for your ability to appreciate all of them, from the great happiness for your mother, grandmother et al, to the deep sadness you feel at the breaking of the personal, touching communication with her. How great that we have God holding us through all of it, giving us comfort.
    My best wishes, Karen Fay

  • Tina

My heart is saddened for your loss, but I pray that the Lord comforts your soul and that you know your mom is still with you in ways we don’t fully understand. She is now part of that great cloud of witnesses (Heb. 12:1) and is praying for you in the very presence of our heavenly Father. I believe she is nearer than you know. We love you, Amy! In this time of grieving, may the Lord fill your heart and soul with His peace.
