Happy New Year!

I hope that the new year is off to a great start for all of you. I always love the promise of a new year and hope that 2011 is a year that brings all of us closer to our dreams, those shared and those unspoken.

2011 promises to be a busy year for Amy. As many of you know, she is kicking off the year with a 20+ city tour with her dear friend Michael W. Smith. It has been over 20 years since Amy and Michael have done a non-holiday tour together and they are both so excited to hit the road for the “2 Friends Tour.” Hopefully we will see many of you at the shows, which promise to be a mixture of golden oldie hits and new music, with Amy and Michael sharing stories from the past 20 years. For those of you who are members of Friends Of Amy,we will indeed be holding “soundchecks” during this tour but please remember that space is limited and you need to sign up soon. For those of you who are interested in attending a soundcheck but are not members of FOA, please consider signing up soon. I think those members who have attended soundchecks in the past can attest to how fun it is to get to see Amy and the band rehearse and Amy makes it a point to make the soundchecks as personable and intimate as possible.

In addition to the “2 Friends Tour,” Amy will also be part of several “Women Of Faith” events in 2011, starting with the first event in Las Vegas on April 30th. Amy has always enjoyed her time with the Women of Faith organization and is looking forward to sharing the stage and being part of these incredibly inspiring weekends.

We will be adding additional concert dates throughout the summer and into next fall…and possibly another Christmas tour! In between all of the touring, Amy is going to begin working on a new recorded project that we will share details about when we can.

I will try to remember to update this blog more often. I confess that Facebook has become such an easy way to reach people with information that I have let this blog falter in the past year, but my goal is to use this forum more often in 2011 than I have in the past.

More to come…

Wish that Amy and Michael would tour further into the south…we live in South Florida, and it seems we miss out on many great shows. The closest Amy came to South Florida was Melbourne during one of the Christmas concerts with Vince…was still over a two hour drive. Lots of fans are down here waiting for some concert dates!! :)

So excited about 2011! My wonderful wife got me tickets to the two Ohio shows in Feb. A great Christmas present!! I can’t wait. It’s an 8 hour drive but well worth it.

I’m even more excited about a new recording from Amy. I hope she’s not too busy touring that a new album gets put on the back burner.

Lastly, thanks Jennifer for committing to this blog. I don’t do Facebook and depend on this for my Amy-news-fix. 😉

Any chance of getting a song list (even partial) for the Feb 4th concert in Redlands? My sisters are coming with me and I want to make them a mix CD to get them ready since they are not familiar with all of their music. I own all their CD’s but can’t get all the music to them! Anywhere I can get a songlist? thanks and can’t wait to see them!!! This will be my 5th Amy Grant concert and 2nd Michael W Smith concert!!! -Heidi

Sorry Jennifer one more question – never heard of the soundcheck before – what is it and how can I see (or hear) it? I’m going to the Redlands concert with my two sisters (so 3 of us total) – if I sign up for the $30 FOA do I get to see Amy or can all 3 of us do it? Is she for sure have this soundcheck in Redlands CA on feb 4th? I wouldn’t want to do it unless all 3 of us can attend – but I guess if only I sign up I can do it without my sisters…can you email me and let me know the details of the soundcheck? thanks much!!

  • Chris

Heidi, the soundchecks are for FOA members only and to have adults admitted each person must be an FOA member. Hope this information helps!

Thanks – a few more questions. I’m attending the Redlands, CA concert on Feb 4 with my 2 sisters (ages 33 and 28) and they don’t want to do the soundcheck but I do…
    1. how long is the soundcheck and how soon do I have to be there? We are driving together and I don’t want them to be stuck with nothing to do while I’m at the soundcheck
    2. how many more spots are available at this concert in Redlands on Feb 4 and how many total spots are there?
    3. final question – are cameras allowed? I have seen some video on youtube from prior soundchecks.
    Thanks much for the help!!
