We have seen many of you posting Birthday wishes for Amy so we wanted to open a blog for you to leave comments and give Amy one spot where she could come to read your messages…

  • Over the years Amy has touched all of our lives in individual ways, whether personally, from the stage, or through her music.  This is a chance for all of us to stop for a minute and share a memory, a simple “Happy Birthday” or something from your heart to hers.

    Well you’ve joined the 50′s crowd finally!!! Laura and I hit the big 50 last year and this year. I want to thank you for all the heart felt songs you’ve blessed me with both in concert, at Word family events and on your recordings over the years. My kids grew up going to your concerts with me thru my Word Record days (’91-’95) and always loved all the time you and the other Word artists’ gave them. I love your new album and the timeless messages of the songs. Have a wonderful day with all your family and friends!!!!

    HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY AMY!
     
    I first heard your music (Age to Age Album) when I was an elementary school student. Now I am 37 years old and have collected EVERY Amy Grant CD I can get my hands on! = ) I play them… and play them… and play them… I remember my younger sister coming to visit me when I was in college. She was getting into my car and noticed the “new” Amy Grant CD. She picked it up to move it out of the passenger seat and the plastic case was in three pieces! She laughed aloud and said, “I didn’t even know Amy had a new CD and you have already managed to wear your copy out!” = )
     
    I enjoy singing your music while driving in my car – and I especially love when my 7 year old daughter Audrey sings along! She tells me “Mom, Mom can you play my favorite song?” At that point I select “Overnight” and then I sing your part and Audrey sings Sarah’s part! 
     
    When the holidays roll around – Tennessee Christmas is the first song to go in the player! I am looking forward to seeing you and Vince at your Christmas concert scheduled in Nashville on Dec 22nd!

    As kids would have it, my little 3 year old hasn’t been sick in soooo long but of course woke up this morning with a fever! So as the rest of the family is celebrating we were sitting at the table home alone and I looked up and saw your picture on my mantle (my husband and I met you at a show) and I smiled remembering that today is your birthday :) What a great reminder of how thankful I am for your music and for the inspiration it and you have brought me and continue to bring me through the years.     Happy Birthday Amy from WV. I still say that Age To Age was your best album and the Age To Age tour was the best. I am not a very big fan of rock gospel and that is why Age to Age to me is the best. Would love to see you go backwards to that kind of music again. You and Gary made a great team (from looking from the outside in that is).

    Happy Birthday Amy!!!! You have blessed and inspired my life more than I can put into words and “thank you” just does not seem sufficient. I have so many things to be thankful for-one of them is that I became a first time aunt last night, Nov 24th at 11:16 PM. I put in a request to my sister-in-law to try and wait until mid-night so my little niece could be born on your birthday, but she just couldn’t quite make it happen :) But, “alas”, I am thrilled beyond words to have a beautiful, healthy niece named Grace, which could not be more fitting for a Thanksgiving baby. I have 2 sisters that I buy there tickets to go to your concerts with me. I am so thrilled cause I love spending the money to see you. In fact my sisters love you as well as I do. My nephew ask’s me Uncle Bubba would you name your cats after Amy and I said yes. Amy as a girl and Grant as a boy. (Next cats I get) Now how sweet is that. This is a 9 year old boy saying this. I have met so many friends in FOA and I am very blessed cause of you and the good lord above. I hope and pray that your 50th birthday along with having a blessed Happy Thanksgiving is that you had will always remind you that you are loved by so many. You make so many smile, laugh, and feel great about themself’s You have a wonderful management and in a whole everyone you have is Important.     I have heard your music especially during the 80s in the UK when I was young and things were difficult at home. Your songs helped me build that close relationship with Jesus which I was able to form from 8-9 years old you share a place in that time.

    I have followed your music through the years and it continues to be a blessing.

    Today (im 34, married and have a little boy 2 years old) I look back and I think how many of your songs have come back to me in all kinds of joy and sorrow.

    Dear Amy, Many years ago I was a teenager in a Christian bookstore with a little money in my pocket and looking for some good Christian music. There was very little back then. I took a chance on two different albums (yes, vinyl LP’s). One was the Wall Brothers and the other from a prominent display of My Father’s Eyes. Never heard of you before but you looked worthy of a shot in the dark. Well, the former didn’t pan out but YOU sure did! I have loved all of your music in its time and followed you ever since. Am heartbroken I have not been able to see you in concert yet but I will be turning 50 in April and have been saving my pennies for a year! Hoping to plan a trip to where ever you will be performing and FINALLY see you.

    Even though I am a day late, I wish you a wonderful 50th birthday. My heart is full of thanks for you and your life and your ministry to me through all the years. Sweet melodies and words fill the rough spots and help make a much smoother road in the narrow way.

    I felt I knew you before we met in Knoxville, TN in 2006 but after meeting you I realized that the beauty, warmth & kindness you radiate in your music is not only real but it’s infectious & heartfelt.

    When I shared that you my mom had been 43 when she had me, you touched me when you said that seeing the person I had become when so many others told my mom was wrong to have a baby so late in life, reassured you that you did the right thing having your youngest daughter when you were 40.
