    Dear Amy,

Well you’ve joined the 50′s crowd finally!!! Laura and I hit the big 50 last year and this year. I want to thank you for all the heart felt songs you’ve blessed me with both in concert, at Word family events and on your recordings over the years. My kids grew up going to your concerts with me thru my Word Record days (’91-’95) and always loved all the time you and the other Word artists’ gave them. I love your new album and the timeless messages of the songs. Have a wonderful day with all your family and friends!!!!

    HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY AMY!

I first heard your music (Age to Age Album) when I was an elementary school student. Now I am 37 years old and have collected EVERY Amy Grant CD I can get my hands on! = ) I play them… and play them… and play them… I remember my younger sister coming to visit me when I was in college. She was getting into my car and noticed the “new” Amy Grant CD. She picked it up to move it out of the passenger seat and the plastic case was in three pieces! She laughed aloud and said, “I didn’t even know Amy had a new CD and you have already managed to wear your copy out!” = )

I enjoy singing your music while driving in my car – and I especially love when my 7 year old daughter Audrey sings along! She tells me “Mom, Mom can you play my favorite song?” At that point I select “Overnight” and then I sing your part and Audrey sings Sarah’s part!

When the holidays roll around – Tennessee Christmas is the first song to go in the player! I am looking forward to seeing you and Vince at your Christmas concert scheduled in Nashville on Dec 22nd!

Have a blessed day with your family Amy and again Happy Birthday and Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you for being so transparent and real with your life and faith.

Happy Birthday and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Amy Grant! :)
Thank you for all of your beautiful songs that give praise and thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father! I enjoy singing to your songs and they always take me to that higher place.
I have your book “Mosaic” and have enjoyed learning more about you. I appreciate the kind and gentle spirit within you that appreciates the “Simple Things” and am thankful to you for sharing your gifts with others in such a generous way. I know it cannot be easy being in the public eye and having some say negative things and judging you from time to time so I am pleased to see that none of that stopped you or hindered you in anyway and that you continued strong in your vocation so that others may benefit from it. I appreciate your humility and your perseverance to remain strong in your faith no matter what. I am blessed to have you as a sister in Christ. Sending blessings your way to you and yours for a memorable Thanksgiving and 50th birthday celebration! God bless you and yours! :)

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Birthday, Amy! What a wonderful day to be celebrating your 50th!

As kids would have it, my little 3 year old hasn’t been sick in soooo long but of course woke up this morning with a fever! So as the rest of the family is celebrating we were sitting at the table home alone and I looked up and saw your picture on my mantle (my husband and I met you at a show) and I smiled remembering that today is your birthday :) What a great reminder of how thankful I am for your music and for the inspiration it and you have brought me and continue to bring me through the years. Thank you! Have a beautiful day!

Happy Birthday Amy from WV. I still say that Age To Age was your best album and the Age To Age tour was the best. I am not a very big fan of rock gospel and that is why Age to Age to me is the best. Would love to see you go backwards to that kind of music again. You and Gary made a great team (from looking from the outside in that is).

Hope your birthday was a good one.

  • Heather

I know we’ve never met, but you feel like an old friend. First saw you at a concert at Trinity Western College in British Colombia, Canada back in 1981. Have loved your music ever since. Long before blogging was popular, I got to see your heart in your songs, and it gave voice to my own. Wishing a friend from afar a Happy Birthday.

  • Eva Hart

    Dear Amy,

Happy 50th Birthday! I was born in August the same year as you! : ) God has blessed you with such amazing talent and gift in music and growth in life! I truely admire you and have enjoyed your music for years now since I lived in Norway (I’m from this country) and trough the 15 years I have lived here in Colorado. I saw you in concert in Oslo, Norway in the early 90′s. You were the most natural performer I have seen : ) I still hope to see you in concert in the USA as well! : ) Have a Happy Thanksgiving as well, and enjoy the day with your family! : )

Love and best wishes from Eva

Happy Birthday Amy!!!! You have blessed and inspired my life more than I can put into words and “thank you” just does not seem sufficient. I have so many things to be thankful for-one of them is that I became a first time aunt last night, Nov 24th at 11:16 PM. I put in a request to my sister-in-law to try and wait until mid-night so my little niece could be born on your birthday, but she just couldn’t quite make it happen :) But, “alas”, I am thrilled beyond words to have a beautiful, healthy niece named Grace, which could not be more fitting for a Thanksgiving baby. I hope you had a wonderful birthday and very Blessed Thanksgiving with your family and friends. Looking so forward to seeing you and Michael in Omaha in Feb!! Woo-Hoo!!!!!
    Blessings,

Thank you for continuing to be a blessing to your family, friends and fans!

I hope I can look, and be, as gorgeous as you at 50.
Thankyou for touching my life with your music, honesty, reality and faith.

May this decade be even better than those gone before……..

    Amy,
Yesterday I was in the executive directors office at TreeHouse in Minnesota where I work and saw your picture on her bookshelf. I let her know that you would be turning 50 today and she wondered what we should send you. So, on behalf of my co-workers at TreeHouse, I am sending you best wishes for a very happy birthday and a huge thank you for your support this past year.

  • Michelle Heltz

Happy 50th and may you have many more! Hope you had a great day!

  • Wendy

    Dear Amy,
Your music has been part of my life for 25+ years. I will be joining the “50″ club in a few years, and I hope I will still look as young as you do. I have followed your music since around 1983, the year I graduated from H.S. I own every cd (and even some albums and cassettes!), and every one of them is special to me for different reasons. Thank you for all the wonderful music and being an inspiration.

Happy birthday, your music has touched so many people around the world including here in New Zealand. When I am struggling with the curve balls life throws at me, I just play one of your cds and it inspires me again. , (I have worn a few out!). Like others have said , saying thankyou only covers a small part of what you have done and it doesn’t seem enough. We would love you to come to New Zealand!! Have a great day with your family.

    Hi Amy

    Congrats

I have heard your music especially during the 80s in the UK when I was young and things were difficult at home. Your songs helped me build that close relationship with Jesus which I was able to form from 8-9 years old you share a place in that time.

I have followed your music through the years and it continues to be a blessing.

Today (im 34, married and have a little boy 2 years old) I look back and I think how many of your songs have come back to me in all kinds of joy and sorrow.

God bless you and your family in the years to come

    Simon

Dear Amy, Many years ago I was a teenager in a Christian bookstore with a little money in my pocket and looking for some good Christian music. There was very little back then. I took a chance on two different albums (yes, vinyl LP’s). One was the Wall Brothers and the other from a prominent display of My Father’s Eyes. Never heard of you before but you looked worthy of a shot in the dark. Well, the former didn’t pan out but YOU sure did! I have loved all of your music in its time and followed you ever since. Am heartbroken I have not been able to see you in concert yet but I will be turning 50 in April and have been saving my pennies for a year! Hoping to plan a trip to where ever you will be performing and FINALLY see you.

Even though I am a day late, I wish you a wonderful 50th birthday. My heart is full of thanks for you and your life and your ministry to me through all the years. Sweet melodies and words fill the rough spots and help make a much smoother road in the narrow way.

  • Teresa

Happy Birthday Amy! Have loved and listened to your music from your very first album!!! May this year be a very blessed year for you!

  • emilie fijan (the netherlands)

Dear Amy, congrats to your 50th birthday. You’ve been in my life for a long, long period and it felt to me as if we were soulmates. I’ve listened every day to your music in the difficult years of my life . and now I have reached the same age as you, the 1st of november. Once you were in Holland for a concert and, glad as i was then for you being in our country and the opportunity i had to come to your concert, you signed a card for me because i was operated and lying in hospital…. I’m glad I found you on the internet again and get the opportunity to congratulate you. I wish you all the best and many happy years with your family. Please be your self and may be you may come to Holland once a time, again??? Please let me know then!!!
Lots of love from a great fan of yours.

Happy Birthday to a super person who makes everyone smile. I will be 50 in a year – ouch that hurts to write that. Hope I look as good as you do. I have been a fan since your “Lead me on” tour and saw you in concert this month and you are just as great as ever – we are blessed!
Thank you for your music and your interesting words that you say at your concerts. I am always amused with the things say on stage – like we are all a part of your inner- connected family.

50 years – really? Thank you for showing a rebellious teen that there was Christian music that could speak to his heart. My parents bought you first Christmas Album for me back in the 80s, and it’s been one of my favorite albums ever since. I’m now in seminary, and working towards ordination. Thank you for following God’s lead, and sharing your gifts with the world.

  • Eva

Welcome to the 50′s amy. It isn’t so bad, honest! You and your words inspire me. I have been a fan for years. Just got your new album and LOVE it! AND, Sarah has an incredible voice!
My birthday is on the Canadian Thanksgiving in October so we have something in common.
May you have many more happy and healthy birthdays filled with wonderful memories!
Keep on making the world a better place!

    Amy,

What can I say except thank you for giving us the gift of music & hope for many of your 50 years on this planet. I know I speak for countless others when I say that you’ve touched our lives in a way that few people have, let alone someone who is famous.

I felt I knew you before we met in Knoxville, TN in 2006 but after meeting you I realized that the beauty, warmth & kindness you radiate in your music is not only real but it’s infectious & heartfelt.

When I shared that you my mom had been 43 when she had me, you touched me when you said that seeing the person I had become when so many others told my mom was wrong to have a baby so late in life, reassured you that you did the right thing having your youngest daughter when you were 40.

May God continue to bless you for another 50 years. :v)

    Dear Amy,
Happy 50th. birthday to you.I became a big fan of your music since I was the age of 13 when I started listening to christian music for the very first time . You were the first christian music artist that I enjoyed listening to.To this day I still enjoy listening to all of your songs.Every time I listen to your song, I will remember you, brings tears to my eyes.Because it makes me think of my own father that died with cancer back in March 2010. May the Lord richly bless you, and keep you for many more years to come.Merry Christmas to you, and wishing you the very best in 2011. God’s speed, Debbie H.

Cant believe it, 50. I just see you as this person who is ageless and full of life. You have been such a great witness to me over the years. Through concerts, interviews and music, to some extent I have looked to you as a older sister that I draw from in navigating my own life. God is first and foremost, but I consider you somewhat of a mentor from afar.

  • Alisa McGuigan

Happy Birthday Amy!!! I hope you have a wonderful one. I have been a fan for 20 years and your music has gotten me through a lot of trying times in my life. I went and saw you in Lancaster PA this August for my birthday, (my gift to myself). I enjoyed every minute of the concert and wished it had lasted longer than it did. Every time I need inspiration or to cheer myself up I put on of your cd’s on and I start feeling better about things. Thank you for being such a great person and entertainer. My best wishes for your birthday as well as the up coming holiday season for you and your family,
