Dallas/Fort Worth’s own Bart Millard of MercyMe will act as honorary host

May 14, 2010 (Irving, TX)- As tens of thousands of Texas families prepare to descend on Southfork Ranch on Saturday, June 26th.  94.9 KLTY and Interstate Batteries announces that multi-platinum artist MercyMe front man Bart Millard will serve as host for the 20th anniversary for the much-heralded 94.9 KLTY/Interstate Batteries Celebrate Freedom ® concert-festival event.

The event is an all-day free family event featuring today’s biggest rock and adult contemporary Christian artists, fireworks, children’s entertainment, rides and exhibits. 94.9 KLTY has teamed up with Dallas/Fort Worth based Interstate Batteries for a 14th year to lead the charge in providing this absolutely free to the public event.

Joining Millard will be his band mates from MercyMe as they open the event, complimented by multi-platinum selling and Grammy® award winning artists Amy Grant, Third Day and Gospel Music Association Award winning and Grammy nominated artists, Israel Houghton, Matthew West and Hawk Nelson.  Rounding out the all-star line-up, will be performers, Brandon Heath, Dallas/Fort Worth’s own Kari Jobe, Meredith Andrews, KJ-52, Francesca Battistelli, Britt Nicole,
Tenth Avenue North and The Robert Gotcher Band.

“ Bart Millard and MercyMe are like family to us here at 94.9 KLTY.   Over ten years ago, we had the privilege to broadcast “I Can Only Imagine” on our station.  That song is arguably one of the biggest songs to ever come out of our genre of music.  It transcended formats and drew hundreds of thousands of people to Christian music.  MercyMe, with Amy Grant, Third Day and the rest of

our line-up- I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this event”- John L. Peroyea, Vice President Operations, Salem Communications Corporation

Thank you for posting the review. I think he should have spoken more about Better than a Hallelujah and Come into My World – however, I TOTALLY agree about Arms of Love. When Amy sings Arms of Love on this CD, it’s like you can hear and visualize that she has experienced stretches of life, not experienced in the original recording.

Also, I have to mention that I love the song Lucky One. I think he could have ended up with a still nice review without the comment about Lucky One.

    Love you, Amy!
