Hello From Vegas

Last night MWS and I taped a holiday skating special here in Las Vegas.

And No, we were not the ones on the ice.

Tomorrow I fly to Houston to resume the Lead Me On reunion tour.

Today is a day of rest

Sure need it after this lst week.

Vince and I had our rehearsals for the xmas tour..

and on a totally different note, I hosted the first annual Amy Grant and Friends Yard Sale on the Lipscomb University campus in the shadow of the Burton Building,( named for my great grandparents).

The sale was a fundraiser for a good friend of mine's son who has CP.

What I enjoyed the most about the day was the amazing spirit of giving that permeated that lawn.

We raised a lot of money, thanks to all of the volunteers, and all of the "free and clear" donations of trash and treasures that people gave us to sell.

In particular, my husband finally parted with several of his golf bags….a tough choice for a pack rat.

Ralph Emery, the legendary broadcaster (in the Country Music Hall of Fame) brought by several autographed books and a jacket….and Wynonna donated some gems from her closet.

I thought it was a great event. Could have not asked for a better day weather wise as well. I am so glad you were able to raise money for such a wonderful cause. My whole family enjoyed it and the time together. You clearly were working hard and were all smiles as usual. Thank you for all you do to give back.

Sounds amazing! Wish I could have been there! The cause you supported is a great one. I am 23 years old and have lived with CP my entire life, and I am truly a blessed woman to live independantly and pretty much do what I want. However, I must say that I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love of Jesus, family, and wonderful friends who have given me their support. I wanted to let you know how much I love your music. Your christmas albums are great! I’am always looking for a collection of you christmas hits that include Let the season take wing and A skaters holiday (from the movie snowden on ice.) You should add them to one of your albums. They are both great songs. I have not been able to find them on a CD. You make wonderful music! Thanks!

Just had to take a minute to tell you that my husband and I LOVED your concert in Portland! So, so awesome to hear you and your fabulous band in concert once again. And, we were so impressed when, at the end, you were sharing all your NEW works … and amazed at how the entire band was kind of picking up the tune as they went along! You are all so very talented!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your Christmas album too … “Jingle Bells” is a blast (as I wrote on my blog … the kids love starting out the morning with that song on our way to school!); and the song you and Chris Eaton wrote is amazing … “I Need A Silent Night”. The two of you have come up with some of the most memorable Christmas music. Simply beautiful … perfect lyrics to a perfect tune.

Hey Amy!! I had a great time at you concert last night here in Houston!! It brought back lots of memories! My dad took me to your concert in Houston 20 years ago when I was 8 and I can still remember it, so last night was a special night. Amy, Houston show was a blessing. The lead me on tour was the first show my wife and I saw together as a married couple. August was 20 years. We left the kids at home and relived 20 years of memories on the way to and from the concert, hour each way. I am so glad you previewed the new music it was a blessing. I first saw you at reunion arena during youth evangelism conference. We so enjoyed going to a concert that was song that we could sing and worship with. So different from a concert were everything is something you haven’t heard and are listening closely to what words are saying. thanks again brian

Amy, My husband and I saw you in the Woodlands last night. You still got it girl! One of my favorite things was watching your face as you watched your band members “take off” and have a good time. Your whole face lit up and I could really tell that you were having a wonderful time reflecting and rejoicing the blessings God is giving you and the band during this tour. I commented to my husband that you really inspired me to move on past some painful times in my own life where people have been so hurtful. You are such a living testimony of God’s grace and I applaud you for your tenacity and strength through all you have been through. God’s grace!

Snow has been falling up here in Toronto in the last 24 hours (although, I’m sure it won’t stay long)… Christmas is on its way.
I check your site/blog every once in a while and always appreciate the fact that you’re not just entertaining, but also “leading us on”… showing us examples of helping in this world, thru various local and international events.

We were so fortunate to see your concert in Houston and Ft. Worth this week. I had the time of my life and getting to meet and take pictures was such a great pleasure, despite being introduced by Jerry as “the stalker”. Just for the record, I am so not a stalker, but I thoroughly enjoy your music and your life story. I especially loved that you are just so real and so kind, especially to my daughter and her friend. I appreciate so much you taking the time to take pictures and sign autographs. You are so beautiful, not just physically, but your beauty truly shines through in the way you interracted with people, through your music and your spirit. I was so touched by the family that you brought on stage and you singing with them. I also LOVED the new music. I am waiting on pins and needles for the CD. I just can’t wait.

Hey Amy,
We were at the Wichita show last night. Have grown up with you since that first album when we were all 17. It is cracking me up to hear these 20 somethings say they have grown up with your music–while I am sure that is true at the point of their recollection–I have to say for us, it was like your music grew up with us. I use to say that it was you and Ziggy who reflected my thoughts in the world but since I haven’t seen Ziggy around in awhile I guess it is just us-ha!
I have sporadic opportunities to meet you and connect with you through the years and it was great to share a few hours with you last evening among the crowd. Thanks for always being willing to share your heart and your music and for keeping it real. Here in OKC you will always have a friend (make that two… or maybe we should count that in thousands).
Anyway, enjoyed the concert and looking forward to your next project. Let’s do lunch at Ted’s next time you are in town-ha!

Amy you are such a blessing! You are so down-to-earth and personable. My sister, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed your concert in Wichita last night. I was “raised” on your music, and even though my baby girl is only a few months old, it was so special to be able to transfer what I heard as a child to her.
This was the third time I’ve seen you in concert, and I have to say I enjoyed this one the very most. It was just as you said: “…Like sitting around in a living room.” Thank you for being so genuine. And thank you for sharing your amazing talents!

Hi Amy,
although this is a rather random comment, it does connect a bit to your Christmas concerts/new CD.
Last night I was listening to you “A Christmas Album” (I had just gotten to check it out from the library (I work there and when I saw it was being returned, I just had to get it) and one of the songs in particular sounded familiar. I’m wondering if the ‘Christmas Hymn’ changed names to ‘Pax Christi Hymn” permanently or just for the “Music of the Spirit” CD? Also, (I know it’s way late) congratulations on recieving the Pax Christi Award!
