First “show” down

Tonight we had our first audience.
Friends and family filled the folding chairs of the rehearsal hall and stoodarpund the back wall.
Several songs in to the set we thought to turn off the overhead florescent lights, which were a real mood buster.
All through the first half dozen songs I kept wondering if my instincts were right, or if I was completely in left field with this tour idea.
By the end of the show I could see the answer written on everyone’s faces.
These old songs, these old reminders of earlier passion, these honest proclamations in the form of songs were like a long cool drink of water.
Everyone was energized and impassioned and happy.
I cannot wait to share this evening with any and everyone who needs a lift.
….even danced a little bit tonight

When I was 6 years old I was introduced to your music. At 26, I’m just as moved (if not more) by your music as I was when I was a child. You inspired me to express myself through music and it has taken me very far. The music I write is a product of what your music has inspired me to be. A person of courage, love, strength and compassion.
Because of you – I discovered my love for music. I’m not alone when I say you still inspire millions around the world. We are grateful for everything you do and we (the fans) will always be in the audience cheering you on as we always have. Sing loud, dance much and let the light of inspiration shine upon you.

I’m 23, and I feel like I’ve spent so much of my life growing up with your music. I was introduced to it by my older sister who would play your LP’s as she got ready for school when I was little. Thanks for doing what you do, Thanks for being you.

Everytime I listen to LMO and Unguarded I have the same, uplifting, renewed experience…The bare honesty, the deep, deep heartfelt feelings laid out for all to share…the love, the sorrow, the pain the joy…It churns up all the old memories, both good and bad…and the bad only serve to remind me how blessed I am to have come this far in life covered by His grace…His insurmountable grace. I rejoice to be able to see you in Irvine…Yes, dance with all the joy and freedom that we all had in 1988-89…We will all be right there with you…(and no, your teenager won’t be standing next to you embarrassed by your movements LOL! If she is, remind her where her bread is buttered!) Sending prayers and hugs to you and the band!

I know nobody needs to tell you that persevering through tough times with an attitude of Hope is what makes you a leader in the good times. No worries about small audiences…this is what you needed to do as an artist and the value goes far beyond just packing the house on any given night. On a purely selfish note, if the shows are small we adoring fans get more of you to ourselves, so I’m not complaining! Looking forward to Morgan Hill…

that’s it!. i didn’t see , but i’m sure it was amazing as all of yours shows. i’m happy you danced , it’s good for the soul.I were neither born when this cd come out, but it’s my favorite, whith my favorite song (shadows), is friday,bye… i’m gonna dance and sing it right now.

I am so excited to hear how it is all coming together, I can just picture the joy on your friends/family’s faces watching you!! Please know how much you are loved and how Blessed we all are by you and your music. Never be nervous or self-conscious, let loose and dance for our wonderful God!!
