New website

I noticed on the message boards that several people are concerned with the recent changes of the website and so I wanted to address a few questions that were posted.

Yes, we have moved our service from Brickhouse Direct to the Idea Den.  Although the people at Brickhouse were great, we decided it would work better for us to use a company that was Nashville based.  The Idea Den comes highly recommended and we are excited about what we can accomplish with them to improve the service to Amy’s fans.

Yes, the message boards are currently opened to everybody not just paying members.  We are still reviewing our FOA membership perks and plan to announce a new package in the next 30 days.  In the meantime, we decided to keep the message boards open to the public and monitor whether or not that makes them more active or if we have problems with poachers and others who want to stir up issues.  So far we have been happy with the boards but we are keeping a close eye on things and if we have to make them "members only," we will.

We sent out an email this week to everyone on our email list announcing that we were anticipating a few glitches and would need some time to iron out the issues.  As a way to make it up to FOA members we announced a 30 day extension of all memberships.  We hope to have all the issues worked out within the month.

The rest of the site is still being built.  It will include some new features and some of the old as well.  We are listening to you concerns about navigations and the limited store and I can assure you that we are addressing all of these concerns and more.  The current home page is simply a "place keeper" while the full site is being built.

We want this site to be an enhanced experience from anything you have experienced in the past.  Feel free to continue posting your concerns but also extend us the 30 day grace period we have asked for to work out the the problems.

We agree that Amy has some of the greatest fans any artist could ever hope for and our decision to change the website was one done with those very fans in mind.  Please work with us and be patient.

More to come…

Jen

I, for one, am VERY pleased with the new website…especially the blogs! I think it’s great the way your updating, posting pictures and interacting directly with the fans. You’re getting two thumbs up from me!! :) I am always very interested in the behind the scenes stuff-and all the planning and orginization that goes into shows- so I love this “up close” look!
Looking forward to many new things to come- and seeing some of the familiar stuff too!

    Hi Jen-
I’m enjoying reading the blogs, thank you.
I have a question, that will probably get answered when the website is fully up and running, but I’m thinking of it now, so I thought I would ask. I am bringing my daughter to the concert with me and I’m wondering if she can get into the soundcheck with me? She’s 10. If not, then can I sign her up for a membership for her to get in?
Thanks for all your hard work keeping us informed. And by the way, I do like the personal notes you put it about your life working with Amy and all that you do. It’s fun to read after a long day with my own 3 yr. old and two older kids with homework!!!!!
    Bless you, Amy

I love it, love it, love it. What fun it has been to check out this sight the past few nights. Thanks for the time you put into this. I love that it is not too wordy…from any of you that are blogging…but fills us in with pieces of your day.

Website is looking great! Have a question about the Christmas concert tickets. The ones for Lyric Opera House in Baltimore go on sale today 9/19 through ticketmaster. Are you going to be selling them through this site at all?? because it is not posted as of yet. Thanks for your help.

I have to say that I LOVE the new site and how much more interactive it is. I have been a fan since the late ’80s, but have never been an FOA member. I like that I can read the blogs & post comments. I hope you decide to keep the message boards & blogs open to everyone.

    Hey Jen,
Loving the new website and the ability to post w/out being a FOA member. I was one in the past but have two kids in college now…I’m sure Amy can relate…$$$$ Been listening to Amy for about 28 of the 30 years. It’s been fun to parallel our life experiences…marriage, kids, aging (hopefully with grace). Thanks for your dedicated service to Amy and her fans :)

I love the new look of the website, especially the blogs!
Thank you so much for addressing the new site. I have only been an FOA member for a week or two, as I am travelling from Ireland to see a LMO concert and would like to be able to go to the soundcheck. But since the new website my login details don’t work!
Is there anyone I can contact to ask about this?! Thanks…

  • Cynthia

First of all, I’d like to say, I like the new website so far. Beautifully done! I can’t wait to see the finished work. :)
I had a question or concern that I’m hoping to get help with and I’m unsure of who to contact. I had recently joined Friends of Amy, Aug 28th 2008. I was told I would receive a membership package. I still have not received that and now you are no longer going with Brickhouse Direct. What happens next? Also, the soundcheck sign up, will that be an added feature yet to come? Thank you for your time.

    Just a quick note…
My comment and “Michele’s” comment are attributed to each other.

Can someone please tell me how to renew my FOA membership. I have let it expire and I would like to renew before the Christmas concert.
    Thanks,

Jen, I’m enjoying the new website immensely! It’s even better now with all of the personal touches, updates, and photos. Thanks for helping us to feel more connected to all of you day-to-day. Your warmth and caring really come through in your writing. Blessings to you and to your family.

    Hey Jen,
I’m assuming you saw the thread I started about the new website. I’m sure everything will be worked out. I know that you have been seeing these comments so I thought I would mention (if you don’t already know) the spam that has been showing up. It has a lot of FOA members pretty upset understandably. Anything you could do to help would greatly be appreciated. Even if a moderator/adminsitrator (until the pay feature is up) goes on once or twice and deletes them. Thanks.

    Hey Jen,
A question, so I see that Amy’s ungarded black and white jacket has surrendered to a museum but I honestly can’t imagine a lead me on tour without it making a cameo appearance during unguarded? Right? Also will Amy kick her shoes off for all times sake?
I’m so excited to see Jerry Mcpherson and Chris Rodrigues with Amy again. IT is going to be a blast. Now if you entered for the sound check how can fan members check if they are listed for a certain show? Let me know please. Thanks so much. Lisa from PA

  • Janice

I am enjoying the blogs and the look of the website but I think the message boards need to be either very closely monitored so that anything offensive or disturbing can be dealt with immediately or anyone who isn’t an FOA member should be locked out. There has already been a great deal of spam and questionable posting going on.
